Our Story

The Happy Farmer (formerly Floyd’s Farm & Home) is currently open by appointment only! We provide the community with supplies and equipment that enable, support, and encourage sustainable and resilient living, starting with chickens.

And me? I’m Travis Robinson. I have an art history and museum background but I couldn’t deny my farming roots and about ten years ago set off on a journey to see if I could provide food for my family from the backyard.

I started with chickens and quickly learned that finding high quality, organic chicken feed in our city was impossible. As a died-in-the-wool, do-it-yourselfer, I decided to source it myself . Well, I found it and ordered a pallet. I didn’t need a whole pallet so I found some willing customers to try it out.

Along the way, I added started pullets, chicken keeping equipment, hemp bedding and heirloom quality tools. I hope you find something of value and if you have any questions please touch base, I’d love to hear from you!
